I've been overwhelmed at the number of sellers who were eager to transfer over to Quest for Bids.
Over the past couple weeks while transferring stores over, I have spent a lot of time thinking of how sites I've belonged to built their community.
There was Wagglepop, which minus the owner, was a lot of fun and a vibrant community. There was the "Share your Wares" discussion, which I didn't even know what a "ware" was until like 6 months in!
Then came Bonanzle, which was an amazing venue and community to start, but has since been taken over by a new image that just didn't suit me.
But, without a doubt, the best site I ever belonged to was called Your High Bid. The ladies who ran the site were SO active with the members, kept them engaged and kept the site growing, and I had probably a hundred sales in a matter of a few months before they decided to put it up for sale. All of it came from the heavy community activity bringing new members.
That's what I intend to do here. We can all build our site, something we want to let represent us as sellers. Why? Because we will build it for each other and ourselves.
What I will do:
I am going to fund the site, advise on marketing our stores, build and fund the contests (referral, listing, shopping, mainly) and give support for the site.
What I need from you: Participate! We can all make this site a home away from home, the best alternative venue of it's size, if we follow what the path holds.
Thank you for coming and joining up with us all!
